Teams for the 2nd & 3rd XI and a look at all games, including the 1sts.

The 2nd XI makes the trip down to Taradale to face the reigning premiers in A Reserve. It is a must win game to stay in touch with the top 4. Ryder Cavalier makes his A Reserve debut and without a complete fact check, we believe in the club history would be the youngest player at 12 years & 7 months to play in the seconds. His enthusiasm and ability will see him shine. Michael Rogers also steps up from the thirds after his 4 wickets and 75 runs off 32 balls to add firepower. Add the talents of Jimmy Liersch, Connor Berry, Noah Hadden and Brodie Hogan to name just a few and fireworks could happen down the Calder Highway.

The 3rd XI coming off a win last game are at the Bake Mate Junior Oval (Maiden Gully Recreation Reserve) against Bendigo. There will be 3 debutants earning their first senior cap. Starting with the U14's debutants. Ethan Van Den Aarsen is in fine form with the bat in the juniors with 123 runs off 117 balls this season and averaging 31. Austin Phillips has been very impressive with the ball in the juniors to date and has 4/46 in his games played so far. Ethan will bat in the middle order and we expect to see Austin fairly early with the ball in hand. The other player making their debut is Evan Ralphs (Dad of Tarkyn). Evan and Tarkyn will open the batting in this game. The most inform batsman of the club and Under 14's co-captain Jhak Burke also makes a return to the team with 200 runs for the season at an average of 40. The bowling looks strong with the accurate two of Hayden Lange and Rrig Sharma set to take to the new ball.

The 1st XI is at Bake Mate Senior Oval Marist. They take on Newstead in a 2-day game, and will be chasing down a score of 252 in 75 overs. Dean Trew and Dallas Gill have been looking good at the top of the order and the opening partnership will be critical to chasing down a decent score. Brett Haw is set to get a promotion up the order and he always scores at a good rate. Rob Brown has looked dangerous with the bat this season and will be looking to get a big score. Partnerships will be the key and 3 x 60 run partnerships will get the Lions well towards the total with the experienced Rumeet Singh and Joel Logan also vital in these partnerships. Youngster Astin Clayton played his best innings of the season on Wednesday in the Under 16's with a run-a-ball half century and also will be looking to play his role in the run chase.
